Art by Louise

Louise was born in Bonnyville, Alberta. After high school, she moved to Quebec City and spent many years enjoying her native French culture, travelling to many Asian countries and completed a BA in English Literature at University Laval. As of July 2011, Louise is a permanent resident of New Denver and she is truly pleased to have finally arrived in the Kootenays. She is leaving a 22 year teaching profession to now allow herself to delve into her long awaited artistic goals. In preparation, she has completed the Visual Arts Program at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and a SFU Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts Education. From 2009-2011, she was the Visual Arts Teacher for Grades 8-12 at Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary School in Maple Ridge, BC. In this capacity, she also worked closely with the Maple Ridge Art Gallery to create student art kits and exhibits. She continues to be an avid participant with the local artists in life drawing and painting sessions.

Louise has explored many mediums and works in oils, acrylics, watercolours, clay, collage, multi-media and encaustics.

Louise is thrilled to be now working full-time in her studio at
